New Hampshire Wedding Caterer

about autumn nomad

Welcome to Autumn Nomad—your go-to team for curated food, creative drinks, artistic cakes, and meaningful celebration details throughout New England. Rooted in the heart of the White Mountains in Jackson, New Hampshire, we proudly serve the Mount Washington Valley, North Conway, Jackson, Bretton Woods, Tamworth, and the greater Boston area. While New England is home, our design team is also available worldwide.

At our core, we’re a creative, hands-on team who genuinely loves what we do. We believe food and drink are more than just elements of an event—they’re an experience, a form of expression, and a way to bring people together. From thoughtfully styled grazing tables and handcrafted cocktails to artfully designed cakes, every detail we create is inspired by season, place, and the people we’re serving.

We approach each celebration with care, curiosity, and deep respect for the stories behind it. Whether we’re designing an intimate gathering or supporting a large-scale wedding, our goal is always the same: to create something beautiful, meaningful, and memorable—while making the process feel easy, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable along the way.

At Autumn Nomad events, we believe that every celebration should be a true work of art

thoughtfully designed, joyfully created, and deeply personal from start to finish.

Jaime grew up in Medford, New Jersey, surrounded by creativity, culture, and cuisine. She inherited her creative spirit from her mother and spent her childhood immersed in drawing, painting, and cooking, while traveling for competitive softball and learning the rhythms of catering alongside her father. She was especially close with her “Mom Mom,” her grandmother, whose warmth and love helped shape her heart and deeply influenced the way she approaches care, hospitality, and connection. By the age of eight, Jaime was already cooking for friends and family, discovering early on the joy of feeding others. At the same time, she was drawn to art and fashion, dreaming of designing unconventional wedding dresses long before she ever imagined designing weddings themselves. She began her formal art education at East Carolina University, where she spent two years studying fine arts and working across mediums such as figure drawing, painting, pottery, and metals. She later transferred to Appalachian State University in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Boone, North Carolina. There, she shifted her focus toward textile and fashion design, paired her studies with a minor in marketing, and found a deep love for music, art, culture, and the mountains—elements that would continue to influence her creative lens.

Jaime Melfi-McConkey

After graduating, Jaime explored a wide range of creative paths while finding her place in the art world. She worked in interior design, managed and supported multiple boutiques, and held roles with brands such as Anthropologie and Free People. Through these experiences, she developed a strong foundation in visual merchandising, styling, and storytelling through space—learning how thoughtful design can shape experience and emotion.

While navigating these creative careers, Jaime felt a pull to build something of her own. In 2012, she founded a small handmade brand she called Autumn Nomad—a name inspired by her love for fall as a season of change, color, and transformation, and by a lifelong dream of traveling the world and immersing herself in different cultures. Drawn to the way culture, food, and place shape how we connect and create, this curiosity and sense of movement became her greatest source of inspiration. Under the Autumn Nomad name, she created funky, bohemian jewelry including feather earrings, dream-catcher necklaces, crystal pieces, and accessories made with natural elements, along with hand-crafted scarves and headbands. Autumn Nomad became a space for exploration, creativity, and self-expression.
At the same time, Jaime was also growing up as a devoted foodie. She had been working in catering and the restaurant industry since her early teen years, and food had always felt like a second language. Over time, she discovered her love for edible art—realizing that food offered a way to merge creativity, hospitality, and connection in a more immediate and communal way. While she continued creating jewelry, her focus gradually shifted toward the edible arts.

Drawn by a desire to build a new home rooted in nature and intention, Jaime eventually moved to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. There, she began designing cakes at the White Mountain Cupcakery, further refining her craft and blending her backgrounds in art, fashion, and food. In 2016, she opened Autumn Nomad in Jackson, New Hampshire—a café and wedding design studio grounded in handcrafted cakes, curated food, and art-driven styling. Since then, she has had the honor of working with more than 2,000 couples, with her work featured in publications such as Martha Stewart and Brides. Today, Jaime continues to lead Autumn Nomad with creativity, care, and deep gratitude for the people and stories behind every celebration.

The Real Nomad Family

On February 21, 2024, Jaime took on her most important role yet when she welcomed her baby girl, Maelyn Rose, with her husband Dale and stepdaughter Rhylie. Her new “why” was born the day she met her daughter. Although Autumn Nomad was in many ways her first creation, Maelyn Rose is now the reason she wants to grow her business and give her the life she deserves. Jaime spends every moment she can with her family while continuing to nurture Autumn Nomad in an organic, intentional way. With the expansion of Autumn Nomad Events, her focus remains—now and always—on her daughter and family. Becoming a mother has been the greatest gift she didn’t know she needed, awakening a new purpose from deep within her soul.

Elisabeth Whitaker

Coordinator, Mixologist/Bartender, Event Designer

Hi! I’m Elisabeth, an Event Coordinator at Autumn Nomad since 2024. From curating unforgettable celebrations to shaking up signature cocktails, I love bringing events to life with creativity, calm, and a sense of fun. With a background in hospitality and healthcare, I thrive in organized chaos and connecting with people. When I’m off duty, you’ll find me on brewery patios with my German Shepherd, Koa, or trying out a new recipe. The next celebration is around the corner—will I see you there?

Deborah Robayo

General Manager & Coordinator

Deborah was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, but fell in love with the White Mountains after college. She wrote her first book in second grade (she's pretty sure it was about a dragon) and hopes to one day publish a novel that her family and friends will be forced to buy. She loves cozy fires, big dogs, easy hikes, splashing her feet in the stream, small dogs, quiet nights with her husband, new books, old books, medium dogs, star-gazing, video games, and dogs.

Kathy Iannuzzi

Cake Artist

My name is Kathy—though many know me as Kathy Cupcake. I began baking in high school after graduating from my culinary program and went on to open The White Mountain Cupcakery with my husband Marc in 2009. Serving our community, celebrating milestones, and even winning Cupcake Wars on Food Network were some of my greatest joys. One of the most meaningful connections I made was with Jaime (the “Autumn” of Autumn Nomad), who grew from a talented employee into a lifelong friend. Though the Cupcakery has closed, my passion hasn’t—and since March 2024, I’ve been back with Jaime at Autumn Nomad, creating cake dreams once again.

Alexis McConkey

Cake Artist,

At 33, life is a beautiful whirlwind thanks to my three kids—Lyla and energetic twin boys, Myles and Axl. When I’m not keeping up with them, I’m pouring my creativity and heart into cake decorating at Autumn Nomads, doing what I love most: bringing joy to others. Working alongside my sister-in-law, Jamie, has been both an honor and a meaningful part of my personal journey. Autumn Nomads is more than a workplace—it’s a space of creativity, healing, and purpose, and every cake I decorate is a reflection of passion, resilience, and love.

Gabrielle Tringali:

Cake Artist

Hi! I’m Gabby, a Cake Artist at Autumn Nomad and a New Hampshire native. You’ll usually find me bouncing between the café and events, helping wherever needed. I’m heading into my senior year at Johnson & Wales University, double majoring in Baking & Pastry Arts and Food & Beverage Entrepreneurship. I split my time between NH, RI, and MA, with past experience in Las Vegas and an upcoming pastry internship in France in Spring 2026. After graduating, I’ll be back full-time at Autumn Nomad—ready for new adventures, creativity, and growth

Meaghan Moody

I’m a Mount Washington Valley native with a love for the outdoors, skiing, and creating great experiences for people. I’ve spent the past decade managing restaurants, and I bring that leadership and hustle into every event I work. Whether I’m behind the bar, coordinating a team, or jumping in wherever needed, I stay cool under pressure and keep things running smoothly. Friendly, reliable, and service-focused—I’m all about making sure guests have an awesome time.

Jessica Frye

Mixologist, Bartender

Hi Everyone! My name is Jessica Frye. I am happy to call the White Mountains my home, alongside my husband and our animals.

My bartending career spans 15+ years ranging from celebrity owned, fine dining restaurants to fast paced, high energy night scenes. Connecting with people, creating memorable cocktails and experiences bring me great joy!

Outside of work you will find me hiking with our dog Scout, away at our family camp in northern Maine, paddleboarding or snowboarding.

I feel very fortunate to be able to harness my passion for great service and building rapport with new people every day.

Mia Valerini

Barista

Hello!! I’m Mia, and I’ve been working here at Nomad since 2020 as a barista. If you’ve ever wondered who the mysterious person is hiding behind the espresso machine and making your drinks, look no further. I’ve been a coffee consumer for almost half my life at this point, and it brings me so much joy to make it for others. Since I’ve started here, I’ve really enjoyed getting to be creative with the menu and connecting with people through coffee! Being with this group of coworkers each day is what makes this job so special, though. Our mutual support makes this workplace unique, and I feel lucky to know I could call any one of them if I ever needed to be bailed out of jail! Not that that’s likely—I just know they would… ☕️

From brew pubs and under-the-glass fine dining to dog grooming and boarding, teaching anatomy, working as a Licensed Massage Therapist, and coaching as a CrossFit Level 2 trainer, her goal has always been to make sure people feel well cared for.
